Just in time for this recap, our most exciting feature of Q1 dropped on the very last day.

You can now go from design to slice in seconds. Upload a screenshot, and Prismic will generate a fully structured slice with suggested fields — no manual setup needed. The beta is open to everyone, and we’d love your feedback.

Fine-tune access by space

Custom roles give you granular control over access rights within spaces in your Prismic project. It helps teams protect critical content — like legal pages or product info — from accidental edits.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Assign roles per space. For example, give your legal team full publishing rights in the Legal space, while keeping everyone else read-only.
  • Keep access scoped. Team members can’t edit or publish content outside of their assigned space.
  • Ensure secure role management. Only admins can manage custom roles across spaces.

📌 Custom roles are part of our Enterprise plan. If you're interested, reach out to our sales team to learn more or read the full update.

Create and edit tables intuitively

One of the most requested features is finally here! The new table field is now available in Slice Machine and the Page Builder. It allows you to easily add and edit tables directly in your slices — perfect for financial overviews, comparison tables, or other types of structured content.

Here’s what you can do with it:

Add a table field to a slice just like any other field in Slice Machine.

  • Paste data directly from tools like Excel or Notion — tables stay intact.
  • Turn rows or columns into headers for better formatting.
  • Add or remove rows and columns with a click.
  • Use basic formatting like bold, italic, and links inside cells.

Creating and editing tables in now more intuitive with Prismic.

To try it out, make sure you're on the latest version of Slice Machine.
